Hardly Strickly Bluegrass Festival 2019

I went to the Hardly Stricktly Bluegrass Festival last month held in Golden Gate Park. Hardly Stricktly is a free festival that has been held since 2001 in Golden Gate Park. It attracts some of the top names in music and goes the whole weekend and it attracts over 500,000 people on a single day. I usually go on Friday and enjoy a lot less people (maybe 100,000 are there):

Shooter Jennings

The Waterboys
Bedouine

Tanya Tucker

Bettye Lavette

Chris Thile recording his show "Live from Here"

Hardly Strickrly is always an amazing time. It is a great and super staple of the San Francisco Bay Area.

  1. So much going on it must be difficult to choose who to listen to first.

  2. That would be fun. My favorite that I've been to is Emmy Lou Harris, that sang. It was in Savannah, GA. I lived there from 1998-2000. She has such an amazing voice. There were others, but she stood out at the time.

  10. Pat, what fun! There seems to be a great deal of interest in bluegrass now, across the country. I have a young friend who is a bluegrass fiddler.

  13. This festival looks like so much fun. Isn't it great that it's a free event too. I think it's so important to give everyone a chance to be able to hear live music. Thanks for stopping by the #DreamTeam
