I attended a thing called PedalFest at Jack London Square in Oakland. It was a celebration of the bicycle. It was interesting:
Met Nelson Vails-1984 Olympian and the first African-American cyclist to medal |
PedalFest was cool and I loved the creative spirit in the bicycles.
Love it! Reading this, suddenly I'm thinking the coolest thing in the world would be a velodrome race between penny-farthing bicycles :)

DeleteI decided to get up from bed for a while I was at the Hinsdale surgical center all morning and my cousin that took me dropped me off at about 3:00 p.m. so I thought I'd get up and see what's going on. Thanks for dropping by & I've been to Oakland believe it or not cuz my brother was stationed there back in 1964. I had just graduated grammar school. We use to have parades by the park at my house and they had bike parade and we would just decorate our bikes and parade them. They had it for doll buggies too. Okay feeling woosey... talk at ya later my friend. Thanks for sharing such great pics! They are wonderful

Deletehow amazing! the camp we were just at had a Bike Parade one morning -- because so many kids bike around the camp trails and roads to get places. they did a class on bike safety and then let the kids decorate their bikes, and then a big parade around the campground. it was very cool and the kids loved it.
ReplyDeleteI remember putting our hockey trading cards in the spokes of our bike wheels to get that cool sound. when I suggested it to my son - with his Pokemon cards - he looked at me like I was completely nuts! LOL
We all did that back in the day to get that motorized sound. I bet that parade was great.
DeleteThat looks really cool! Thanks for linking up at the Talbert Zoo. Have a great week!
