Geez, the Holiday Season has come and gone and I posted a bunch of holiday related posts and largely forgot my trip to Las Vegas in November where I took tons on pics, not necessarily related to the strip. I guess I should start sharing them. This one is the Donald H.Baepler Xeric Gardens which is located on the campus of UNLV, near the entrance to the Barrick Museum. It opened in 1988 and was the first large-scale demonstration garden in the Las Vegas Valley:
UNLV's Xeric Garden was a very relaxing and enjoyable spot on campus.
The desert has an unique beauty - nice photos - thanks for sharing!

Such a neat and unusual variety of plants. Thanks for linking up with us over at Together on Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteFabulous spot for cactuses!
ReplyDeletePatrick, a desert garden - now that's neat! It's really amazing how Los Vegas or any desert community springs to life. I wouldn't mind seeing these places some day but it would be hard to live there especially coming from the east where our landscape is so different. Thanks for sharing and please feel free to link up with me for not-so Wordless Wednesday, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love the desert. Wonderful place to explore. Hubby and I are going to Death Valley for three night next December. Looking forward to that very much.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
How cool! What a great place to explore!
ReplyDeleteI love posts like this because when I think Vegas I think the strip. It is fun to see what else is in the area. I'm adding these gardens to my Vegas must see list. Fun post, thanks.

Lovely garden even in the winter.
ReplyDeleteFunny, those pics don't remind me of a garden. I'm glad it's not that dry where I live in South Africa, but we are experiencing drought and now fires too. Thankfully, the fires aren't close to our home, but the firefighters are having a tough time. Take care, Patrick!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics and I'd love to see these in person. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story, have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteNature is beautiful in all regions of our country! Thanks so much for sharing your great pics and remarks at Together on Tuesdays :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a scenic garden! I really enjoyed these photos and think the sculptures add a nice bit of whimsy to this space. Thanks so much for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
