Music Monday: Those "Location" Songs
Music Monday: Just hanging out and people are heading to different locations on vacation. Here are some songs that have a location in it. It may be a city, state or just a street but they are all a cool location:
And a Route that I really want to drive all the way through:
Hi Patrick, You have an awesome selection of songs here! I love the Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls! Haven't heard that one in a long time. And I hadn't heard Springsteen's Streets of Philadelphia in a while either. Wasn't familiar with Ultravox. Route 66 is a fun song. That would be a cool vacay for sure...
Great selection of songs. Let's hit the road and travel :) Route 66 would be a blast! I love that you put some thought into the list. Thanks for playing this week!
All of your song choices are new-to-me, except for the vintage classic "I Left My Heart in San Fransisco" covered by Tony Bennett. Now, that's awesome! I know that's hard to believe but remember I only crawled out from under my mewsic rock less than a decade ago. lol Thanks for hitting the dance floor with the 4M gals and for the visit. Have a summertastic day!
A bunch of really good ones here, Patrick. Unfortunately, Route 66 is no more (though parts of it have been preserved). I know someone who went from Chicago to LA on it in the Sixties, and I always wanted to make that drive after that. Never got the chance. Damn.
I wanted to mention that Rt 66 does exist, at least in Missouri, as "historic Rt 66". It parallels I-44. There's a wonderful Rt 66 Park in what used to be Times Beach, Missouri (yes, the one of deadly chemical fame) which we visited in August of 2013. I really should blog about it. But, as to the music, good choices, and I especially enjoyed hearing West End Girls again.
Oh my goodness you have all the greats out tonite! So sorry I'm so late, but I'm still playing catch up since I've been sick. You have really outdone yourself this time Patrick! YOU'VE ROCKED THE ROOF OFF! My favorite one is on Broadway for sure!!! Woo Hoo!!!
