Interesting choice of songs for Memorial Day! I liked them!
ReplyDeleteThank you Patrick for your service. You've picked some really great songs for this week.

I didn't realize it until I searched for the complete name of your Dire Straights song. Hubby told me, but I wanted to see if he was right. Then I looked at all the names and I see you just a little bit different way for Memorial day in that they're all Heroes (Mariah) then Dixie Chicks with their Travelin' Soldier and on... great way ta go my friend. Makes a person really think! You're one smart cookie I'd say! HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY to you and yours. Have fun & be safe!
ReplyDeletePatrick,
ReplyDeleteYour soft mix of songs paying tribute to our heroes, the fallen is fabulous. Some of your choices are new-to-me. I, especially enjoyed Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" which moved me particularly. I'm grateful for your service to this country and am happy that the Lord keep you safe. God bless the families who's loved ones paid the ultimate price for freedom. I hope you had a lovely Memorial Day and thanks for hitting the dance floor, my friend!
What an interesting mix. I cried my way through Just a Dream, rocked with Dragonforce (all I know from them is Through the Fire and Flames and I love it; they are the dictionary definition of intense)and listened to Brothers in Arms, the only song I knew of this mix. I am grateful for all who served, including you, and the men and women of World War II (including a classmate's father, who was a partisan fighter in Europe against the Nazis) who fought so I could even be born.
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick,
ReplyDeleteAn awesome set of songs to dignify this memorial holiday. Excellent choices. I really liked Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms", which I didn't remember. So glad you included it because it is one fantastic song. The quality of the music is fantastic. I never heard Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream" -- WOW, that is a powerfully moving song. Great video too. Together they made me cry.
My other two favs here are Sarah McLaughlan's and the Dixie Chicks.
Wonderful post Patrick. Thanks for all the good music.
Have a good week,
