I love looking at concert posters for different groups. I was at the Haight St. Art Center and they had a great exhibit - A collection of almost 30 years of Pearl Jam concert posters. Pearl Jam you can say is one of the most influential bands to come out of the grunge era of the early 1990's. They were elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 and their concert poster art over the last three decades has been amazing:
To me, these are works of art and the Haight St. Art Center did a wonderful job in presenting the exhibit.
One of my all time favorite groups. I had the pleasure of seeing them back in 1996.

ReplyDeleteSome of these are definitely pieces of art - also signs of their times I guess and it's interesting how 'looks' and themes change over time.
ReplyDeleteThese posters are so great! I remember 90’s concert/band posters so well. They were edgy and raw and ever so cool. Pearl Jam is a band that I am only now really appreciating. I didn’t listen to them much in the 90’s but they are on constant rotation on my playlist now.

Looks like an interesting art exhibit. I've only ever been to one concert in my life even though married to a musician and played in band myself. I guess like the shoe cobbler...haha when doing..no time to go to concerts, and now at my age...no interest. Fun posters though, and enjoyed the songs over the years.
