No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man
The Oakland Museum has a exhibition going on right now, it is called No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man. The exhibition goes into the art and the history of Burning Man. Every year, the event of Burning Man attracts over 70,000 people to Nevada's Black Rock Desert and create a society for a week:
I have never been to Burning Man but through this exhibit it looks so interesting and makes me want to attend.
Would be interesting to visit with the crowds. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of people! There's definitely a steampunk vibe to the exhibit. Thanks for linking on Amanda's Books and More!
ReplyDeleteBurning Man sounds so interesting - I've seen several articles on it over the years and the people it attracts and the vibe that goes with it. This exhibit captures some of that and makes me want to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I've shared on my SM :)
I agree looks very interesting nice post and pics :-)
ReplyDeleteHave an artistictastic week ;-)
Fascinating - love the art!
ReplyDeleteI saw it in Cincinnati... went twice! Really enjoyed it and learned a lot about something I had only heard bits and pieces about. I actually came away from the exhibit not wanting to go.... the images of distances between things and dust storms. (and did you see the display on what it costs to attend!) I loved seeing all the images and some of the actual art pieces, and I'm so grateful it stopped in our city! (The only middle of the country stop.)
ReplyDeleteLooks cool. Haven't been to OMCA in a while, hopefully I can visit and see this.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to go too, but I may be too used to my creature comfort at this point. You find the most interesting things to post. It's extra interesting considering the last episode of Silicon Valley. I lOVE the dragon, kind of steam punk meets Norge.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photos!

ReplyDeleteI've seen Burning Man on TV. It might be fun to go, but there are so many people. I kind of like going to places where I'm almost alone. - Margy
