A Side Trip to Ocean Beach
One thing I love about teaching at the school where I am at is that it less than two miles way from Ocean Beach in San Francisco and it is a straight shot. I had to go return my keys and get stuff out of my classroom. It was a weird feeling as a middle school that has a 1,000 kids in was totally empty. But after returning my keys I took a little side trip to Ocean Beach:
I just stood there for about an hour watching the water. So peaceful and lovely, something that is needed these days.
Lovely scenes. I like the doggie!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely the school is so close to the beach, Patrick! It must have seemed very strange indeed though to see it empty. Beautiful photographs of a state I love - We missed two visits to California already with the pandemic. Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party! Take care and stay well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful side trip!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to sit there and watch the water as well. Even the dogs love it! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shots, Patrick! The world certainly needs some calm and serenity in the face of so much unrest rocking the world!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us this week. Stay safe and take care.
Oh it's looks lovely. I live near the beach but so rarely set foot on it, or even walk on the nearby esplanade. I keep saying I'll change that but need to make more of an effort!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and lovely to see I haven't been on a coast for years :-(
ReplyDeleteHave a safetastic week 😷😷😷
Nice to have a lovely distraction in these unsettling times Patrick. The ocean always calms us and there's nothing like a dog or two to give us a smile - and they certainly love the beach too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I've shared on my SM 😊
I so wish I was at the ocean. Beautiful photos.

Ocean beach is such a wonderful place. It's been a while since I've been there - right now, it gets too crowded on nice days for me to feel safe. But hopefully things will be better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Hi Pat, Your posts and photos are always like a breath of fresh air. Truly, breathtaking! It looks like you (almost) had the place to yourself. Yes, peaceful and lovely. Thank you for a beautiful post! Sharing #MLSTL and on SM
ReplyDeleteCome hell or high water I shall see the ocean some day! I want to see it so bad. Blue water... ahhhhhhh I bet it is beautiful and swimming in it has to be the best ever. I love to look at ocean pictures, but to see it in person would be a dream come true! Thanks for sharing. hugs
ReplyDeleteThe sound of the waves crashing and the water under the feet is wonderful. I have not been to a beach in a long while now. Thankfully your photos took me there.
ReplyDeleteI've not been there for many years. We tend to go to Pacifica for beach time.
ReplyDeleteI learned something new about you today. You're a teacher. Thank you for that.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous day, Patrick. 😎
The sounds of the sea have a very calming effect. I am sure the time at the beach did good to you.
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful armchair visit to Ocean Beach CA. Thanks for sharing at #MLSTL. Will pin this post. Be well, enjoy the summer, and lead a colorful life!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad about the school. Schools are still mostly closed around here as well and will not open again before September. But at least you got some fresh air. It's always great to be close to the ocean, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining The Really Crafty Link Party, and enjoy the rest of your week.
I always say I want to live where you do. You share some great photos of your area and beyond. Awesome to be at the water side for a bit. Have a great rest of the Summer. :)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Patrick and very similar to where I live on the Gold Coast in Australia. Great photos and thanks for sharing at #MLSTL. have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI could do the same, watching the waves and looking at the patterns in the foam! Your photos are awesome to see. I always wonder how such beautiful things can grow in the sand.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!
Beautiful photos, Patrick. I have been recently contemplating the idea of being still and just taking things in. This sounds like a fabulous way to pass an hour’s worth of time. Thanks for linking up.
