Joyce Hsu is an artist who creates site-specific art. She created her first Joycebot in December 2019. In March 2020, she started to work from home and started a personal and ambitious art journal that has documented the experience of the last year or so as we have had a collective sharing of the pandemic and social upheaval of the last two years.
Each figure is designed and modeled digitally and then printed on a 3D printer. They are based on news and cultural events. Each part is individually printed and assembled with hand tools and glue. Here is a video of the process:
