Walking in Heroes Grove

I took a walk in Heroes Grove in Golden Gate Park recently. The Grove was founded in 1919 and dedicated to those who served in World War I. The granite stone above was donated by the Gold Star Mothers in 1932 and has the names of 800 men and women who lost their lives in the war:

Heroes Grove is a special place in Golden Gate Park and I am glad that I get to walk through it.

  2. What a beautiful spot and a beautiful tribute. I love how GG park has these packets that are deep dark woods that provide such a contrast to the surrounding city.
