A Walk Around UNLV


One thing I really enjoy is walking around different college campuses and seeing what is there. For all the many times, I have been to Las Vegas I have never walked around UNLV. I have been to a bunch of games at the Thomas and Mack Center (Home of UNLV basketball) but I last time I was there I decided to take some time and see the campus. It was a wonderful walk and it is a very nice campus to stroll around:

Dedicated to those who established UNLV
The Flora Dungan Humanities building
Beverly Rodgers Literature and Law Building
The Pascal Rose Garden
"An Affair of the Heart"
In honor of those who have served
"The Flashlight"
Howard Hughes College of Engineering
"The Cube" representing the many faces of engineering

UNLV is a newish University, it opened in 1957, but it is a beautiful campus to take a stroll in or if you just want get away from the Strip.

    This is cool! I think it's great that universities have great sculptures often.

    I like to walk around state capitols. I'm not a government person, but the buildings are old, big, full of artwork, and important.

    It's been years since I was in Las Vegas and I've never gone to the university. Looks like a wonderful place to explore.

    Once Upon A Time...I very much wanted to be in the college of engineering at UNLV...but, I've never seen the campus because that "visit" wasn't in the parent's budget from Ohio. :) And scholarships led me to other places...in Ohio..:) At least I've now seen the building! :)

    Patrick, the statue honoring those who served reminds me of statue they have at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford Virginia that we visited last June. Nice collection of photos! Have a good day, my friend!

    I did not get out to the campus when I visited Las Vegas two years ago but I have heard the campus is lovely. Really great shots of the sculptures.

    I love how it has all the interesting architecture, but it also uses the natural spaces for other art forms and memorials. That's a great diverse landscape for young people to be immersed in. wonderful.
