The Oregon Rail Heritage Center

In Portland, there is a small museum called the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and it is pretty cool as it is devoted to the history of rail in Oregon:

It is always cool to see anything to see related to history of rail in the United States and I love the regional museums as they go into the history of rail in that area.

Yayoi Kusama at SFMOMA

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese Contemporary artist who mainly works in sculpture and installation. I went to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) to see Infinite Love, her first solo presentation in Northern California.

The exhibit is totally different than what I have ever seen. It is this weird but cool  universe of reflections and colors.  It is in two rooms, you are with six other people and the attendant puts you in a room and it doesn't look like much to the naked eye but then when you use your phone, the reflections and colors jump out at you. You are in each room for about two minutes  before the attendant opens the door and has you come out but the sensory of it is seared into the brain:

Room 1(it took me a minute to adjust):

Room 2:

This is one of her sculptures called "Aspiring to Pumpkin's Love":

Yayoi Kusama is a true artist and I had never heard of her before but I really think that her work is visionary and very immesive

May the Fourth Be With You

It is that time of year again as we celebrate Star Wars:

Here is a hodgepodge of Star Wars things, I have seen or bought over the last year:

At the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle in the Sci-Fi Exhibit they had:

From Star Wars - A New Hope- Greedo's mask

Luke Skywalker on Hoth

And some items I bought this year:

Original Star Wars trading cards from 1977

I didn't buy this item but found it. It was my son's folder for his homework when he was in first grade, twenty-something years ago:

A cool old shirt that was hidden in a drawer:

And two new Star Wars Hoodies:

The Bubba Wallace/Columbia/NASCAR Hoodie

And when walking near Union Square in San Francisco I am reminded:

I hope the force is strong in all.

Murals at Yerba Buena Gardens

Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco has some great murals there. The stairs leading up to one of the entrances is beginning:

To me, I think that these murals are super cool and really give the Gardens an artistic feel.
