Seeing the Beauty

Just trying to see the beauty when I walking during this crazy time we are living in. Nature is starting to bloom and it is pretty to see:

One thing that is nice was see some of the fruit trees bearing some fruit:

Hope everyone is doing good and staying safe and healthy these days.

In the Kitchen Again

Someone has been in the kitchen again, making sure he can eat during this Shelter In Place. Above is the homemade nachos I cooked and the ingredients I used:

This is something I threw together the other day quickly as I got a little tired of my staple PB&J:

Before the Oven

This was a quick snack the another day:

Before the toaster oven

All cooked and ready to go
It has been fun being in the kitchen and cooking. I am enjoying it and it beats going out to fast food places which are the only things open.

SF By The Bay: Science Fiction From the Bay Area

Two weeks ago, I went to the San Francisco Main Library right before they closed for COVID-19. I needed to get some books to hunker down with. They had a small exhibit up called SF by the Bay:Science Fiction and Fantasy in the Bay Area. It was to celebrate the sceince fiction and fantasy writers that lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area.I was amazed that so many science fiction and fantasy writers were from or were living in the San Francisco Bay Area when they were wrting their stuff:

Anthony Boucher and J.Francis McComas

Algis Budrys
Frank Herbert

Paul Anderson

Jack Finney

Ambrose Bierce

Sam Moskowitz

George Lucas

But the coolest was some of the orginal storyboarding by conceptual designer and illustrator Ralph McQuarrie for George Lucas' little movie:

I am glad I saw this exhibiton before the library was closed.

A Walk at the Hayward Regional Shoreline

With the realities of the Shelter in Place order here in the Bay Area and the threat of the coronavirus life has really changed. One of the things we are allowed to do is go out and walk to get some exercise.  Walking is considered "an essential outing", so I get out and have been doing at least a mile walk everyday on the different trails near my house. I have been taking precautions and such and making sure that I am at least six feet apart from others when walking. I have been lucky becasue there hasn't been many people out when I am out:

It was a nice and quiet walk along the shoreline
