A couple of weeks ago, I post a blog about my little collection of baseball graphic T-Shirts. It turns out that I own a bunch of other graphic T-Shirts as well and here is what I feel is the best of the bunch:

There you go. Another peek into my weird world. Thanks for hosting and I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Cesar Chavez National Monument

At the end of December I was driving to Las Vegas from the Bay Area and stopped at the Cesar Chavez National Monument in Keene, Ca. It was during the partial government shutdown so it wasn't open but the gadren where he is buried was and it was beautiful. I decided to save this set until this week as we celebrate Cesar Chavez Day on March 31st. Chavez was a civil rights activist and labor movement leader who changed the world by using non-violent tactics to give the farm workers in this country a decent life:

Cesar Chavez is such a great and important person in the struggle for civil rights and equality in this country. We must remember his words of "Se, Si, Puede (Spanish for "Yes, it can be done")!

RAS Pictures from My Travels

I am on Spring Break and will be away but here are some RAS pics that I have taken in my travels while walking around:

Who remembers Hills Bros. Coffee

Found another Heroes and Hearts

This is an actual "Green Book". The Green Book was published by Victor Green from 1936 until 1963 and it was used by African Ameican motorists around the country to find places that were friendly to African-Americans
 And some things from work:

Playing with a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach

Sometimes I just need to have my brain cleaned

Danny Glover came by one day.
Just some RAS pics from my travels in life.

The March Madness Edition

The NCAA Tournament or March Madness is upon us. The NCAA Basketball Tournmaent is one of the sporting events of the year. For three weeks, a lot of the nation is tuned to it (or following it at work on their computer). The Bay Area is represented by Saint Mary's College as they won the West Coast Conference Tournament. They play in the first round on Thursday evening. They might get bounced in the first round or they might win the whole the thing who knows.

Here are some good books about college basketball to read:

A great book about the history of March Madness
Another great book about the players, teams, coaches and everything else about the NCAA Tournament
This next book I found a Friends of the Library book sale somewhere. The cool thing about it is that it is signed by the author:

About the 1979 Championship which made March Madness the great event it is now
This next book is such a great read. It the autobiography of not just one of the best college coached ever but of a great man who life is an example on how to lead a life:

About the 1993 Eastern Regional Final
I went to the Women's NCAA Tournament Selection Show Party hosted by the Cal Women's Basketball Team. The problem was someone at ESPNU made a mistake and posted the brackets about six hours early. Kind of killed the spirit of the party but the Bears are headed to Waco as a number 8 seed and will play North Carolina in their first round game:
