Watching the Waves

One of my big stress reliefs lately is to go a body of water and sit and watch the water and the waves. I love watching the power of the ocean and the stillness of it at the same time:

Got some surfers out there

It may be simple but it is something that relaxes me.

Coastside Books

When I was in Half Moon Bay, I came across a lovely little bookstore called Coastside Books. It is a charming store:

It is a lovely little spot to browse around in. If you are ever in Half Moon Bay, be sure and stop in.

Walking 24 Willie Mays Plaza

One day a couple of months ago, I decided to walk around at 24 Willie Mays Plaza in San Francisco. The Plaza is named for San Francisco Giant great Willie Mays and is home to Oracle Park- The Home of the San Francisco Giants. It is a great walk and there some cool things to see:

Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda
Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry
Hall of Famer Juan Marichal

For the players who are not Hall of Famers and don't get statutes but who were great Giant players, they get plaques around the staduim:

And they have great Giant moments in the sidewalk:

But street is named for the greatest Giant of all (and of one the greatest baseball players of all time):

Hall of Famer Willie Howard Mays
Walking around 24 Willie Mays Plaza is a good time but don't do it on game days. It gets a little packed.

Half Moon Bay's Main Street

Recently, I went over to Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay is a small town that is known for its "Pumpkin Festival" every October. I learned that it has a cute and quaint downtown area with all kinds of things going on that is a great place to spend an afternoon:

The Zaballa House. Built by Estanislao Zaballa in 1855

The Half Moon Bay Jail- Built ini 1911

The Community United Methodist Church- Built in 1872
And there are some cool pices of street art and murals on Main Street:

Half Moon Bay's Main Street is a truely wonderful place to spend some time/
