The Church at Old San Juan Bautista


In my visit to Mission San Juan Bautista, I took a lot of pics of the inside of the historic church. It is still a working parish. The cornerstone of the present church was laid in 1803 and dedicated in 1812. The Old Mission San Juan Bautista has had an unbroken succession of pastors since its founding on June 24,1797:









When we there, we saw almost like an small anteroom in the Mission. It is the Guadalupe Chapel which was the original chapel while the present church was being built. It is the oldest building at the Mission and has been restored:
