Presidio Musuem

For over 200 years, the Presidio in San Francisco served as an Army base for three nations. It closed down as an Army base in 1994. They recently turned part of the Officer's Club into a small museum:

Philippine Service Medal
19th century rifle
Early 20th Century Calvary Cover
18th century Spanish Army uniform
WWII Army Officer Uniform
WWII Army Nurse's Corp Uniform
Welcome Home Badge given to those who fought in the Philippine-American War of 1899
Bugles used by the Army
The Presidio is an important place in the history of this nation and the San Francisco Bay Area. I am happy that they are preserving the history of this historic place:

  3. It is important to have some reminders of our past Patrick especially as the US and also Australia are relatively young countries compared to Europe. Thanks for sharing at #BloggersPitStop and see you next week!
