Music Monday: Songs that Speak to My Spiritual Faith

Music Monday: Just some songs that speak to my spiritual faith. These are some songs that I listen to when I need a spiritual uplift in my life. I don't think I have ever done a Music Monday like this but I might as well as I am writing this on Easter:

I included the lyrics to "King Without A Crown" (below):

This last one might seem a little strange but I feel that Taylor Swift is talking about Matthew 25:13 and saying that we need to keep our eyes open for God and opportunities to be treat others nicely:

Hope everyone has a great week.

  1. Patrick,

There's nothing like composing a mewsic post on Sunday to bring out one's faith, especially when it also coincides with Easter. I think song lyrics are open to the listeners interruption on how it stirs the heart. According to Wikipedia Swift wrote this song for "The Hunger Games" production. I'm not real good when it comes to Bible verse memorization, so I looked up Matthew 25:13 (KJV) which speaks of no one knowing the hour of Jesus' return. Swift's lyrics really don't make me think of this passage but this verse certainly could imply what you're connecting with...

    Everybody's waiting
    Everybody's watching
    Even when you're sleeping
    Keep your ey-eyes open

Thanks for sharing the dance floor with the 4M gals. I hope you and yours had a wonderful Easter. God bless, my friend!

  2. I like Midge Ure. If only all would listen to those lyrics. XTC had a different but lovely song titled "Dear God." Thanks for sharing.

  8. The Midge Ure song immediately made me think of "Dear God" by XTC (as did Cathy above, apparently). The Whitney Houston/Mariah Carey duo from Prince of Egypt was AMAZING.
