Museum of Monterey

Visiting my daughter, we decided to take a tour of the Museum of Monterey. It celebrates the the culture of Monterey from when the Spanish came through the days of it being a fishing and military capital:

Ships bell for the U.S.S. Monterey)
1800's Sicilian Cart
Chalks and chains used by the ships
ca.1846 USMC hat and Uniform coat
Hotel Del Monte menu's-1926
Inside the museum
Spanish military helmet-1600's
Spanish military helmet-1400-1500's
Ceremonial dress-1930's
MFPU Banner
Diving helmet
1925 H.M.S Rooney
Part of Monterey Sardine industry
WWII poster
Ship's Lantern's
I thought the museum was really cool. I learned a lot about the history of Monterey and the area.

  1. These are great museum pieces. I see the ship bell, reminded me that my husband has the bell that was used over his school when he was a kid growing up in Colorado. Thanks for #WW, have a great day!!!

  12. I like how the Spanish make their helmets pretty. The uniform is so dapper too. Can you imagine only eating tinned food while out at see?
