Greatest Generation Walk And Bob Hope Salute

For me, Memorial Day is always something special. I guess it was because I served in U.S. Navy for four years. It is a time to reflect and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this country. When I was in San Diego I was honored to take the Greatest Generation Walk using the USS Midway (CV-41) for a backdrop and ending up at the Bob Hope Salute was an honor:

Vice Admiral Clifton Sprague
Dedicated to the WWII ship USS San Diego (CL-53)

And finally "Unconditional Surrender" by Seward Johnson:

Thank you to all those who served in any country.

  22. Those pics are great. I love every single one. I definitely have to go see those one day. My brother was in the Navy (Viet Nam War) he was on a supply ship U.S.S. Aludra & the U.S.S. Mars. He wasn't in Nam, but off the coast of Nam. He would've loved to see all this. He's gone now. Thanks so much for sharing. HUGS
