San Leandro Cherry Festival

I went to the San Leandro Cherry Festival. A long time ago, San Leandro, Ca was a haven for cherry trees and the production of cherries. A 109-years ago, San Leandro was dubbed the "Cherry City" because of the cherry production. Even though most of the cherry trees are long gone, the city still celebrates being the "Cherry City" with food, music and fun:

And there was music:

And maybe a thing or two made from cherries:

And if you wanted to make your own cherry stuff, they were cherries to be bought:

The San Leandro Cherry Festival was as always a wonderful time to spend a day.

  1. Quite a spread Patrick. That apple cherry cider looks inspired. I love cherries so the mix with apple in cider form feels like it'd be so refreshing.

  8. The festival looked like a lot of fun. Good for San Leandro for honoring its once-upon-a-time famous crop. I wonder if cherries are ready in our area.

  11. Ooh, cherries! We took the kids cherry-picking one summer in Kelowna (Canada) and they still talk about it to this day about how fun it was and how yummy the different cherries were. :)

  15. Patrick,

Mmm, looks so yummy! I'm not really a huge cherry fan but DH is a cherry lover. That ice cream looks good and I bet ya DH would like it, too. I didn't see any cherry pie. That's one thing DH would definitely get at a cherry festival. :) Thanks for visiting and joining my #WW linky party. Have a great week/weekend, my friend!

  22. Cherries, music and grilled food sound like a winning combination to me. We have lots of cherry festivals here in Michigan and unfortunately it's been years since I've been to one. Thanks for joining us again at Celebrate Your Story, have a great weekend.
