Music Monday: 80's Benefit Songs

Who remembers 80's benefit songs. It was a staple of the mid-80's:

Band Aid:

USA for Africa:

The Canadian version of USA for Africa-Northern Lights:

Artists United Against Apartheid:

Ferry Aid- For the UK Ferry Capsize Victims:

Hands Across America

Dionne and Friends- For AIDS Research:

The 80's were a great time for people to come together and help make the world better

  1. I had no idea there were so many...

  2. Patrick,

This is an interesting theme. Like John I had no idea there are so many songs for special benefits. Thanks for the introductory to the these which is a mix of new and old songs for me. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

  3. I remember the 80s benefit songs. All great ones.

Have a fabulous day and week filled with wonderful music, Patrick. ☺

  4. I didn't even know all of these! But one brought back such memories - Hands Across America. I had totally forgotten about it. Hard to believe it was almost 36 years ago now, and I can't even see where something like that would even happen today. Those were way different times.

Love hearing comments on stuff. Please tell me what you think of the places I have been to. If you like them or not. I love comments.
