Artist Ian Young Presents

I was at the King Library on San Jose State's campus and I saw exhibit called "Ian Young Presents X- The Five Questions of the Unknown." I thought it was interesting. Ian Young is an artist, a illustrator, a designer and a barber. His art work is quite good:

I like his work, before I saw this exhibit I had never heard of him before but now after looking at his work I like and I am glad that I saw this exhibit.

A Winery and #summerhorns

On Saturday, I went to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga to see Dave Koz and Friends play. It was a perfect evening with great views, good food and great music:

Even though the winery was closed, I still walked around:

Had to show my dinner

Urban Beauty

I was walking through some of more urban areas of San Francisco and was amazed by the color I saw. Usually, when we think of urban areas, we don't think of beautiful colors. We just think of the color of hard asphalt and grey sidewalks. It was wonderful to see all of the plants blooming and giving color to the neighborhood:

Color and beauty are everywhere. We just have to find and enjoy it. Hope everybody has a wonderful weekend.

The Work of J.B. Blunk

The Oakland Museum has an exhibit of J.B. Blunk. Blunk was a mid 20th century artist whose had a deep connection to nature that governed his daily life. He was inspired by Japanese philosophies of nature. He was a Northern California artist who lived and worked in Marin County:

Blunk's work is amazing and to me is one of the best Northern California artists who used the material around him to create his art. I am glad that I got to see this exhibit.

Tennyson All-America Festival 2018

On Saturday, I went to the 5th Annual Tennyson All-America Festival down the street from my house. It is a celebration of America and a celebration of my city Hayward. It is a great time to meet community leaders, see community resources, see some great entertainment, eat some traditional Fourth of July food (hot dogs, snow cones and punch) and have some great family fun:

Yes, I drown my hot dog in ketcup
Hayward School Board candidate April Oquenda with City Councilman Francisco Zermeno

They also had a bike repair station
Can't beat snow cones

The cool thing is that Tennyson All-America Festival is growing each year. More and more people in my city are learning about it and coming out. It is really nice to see that Hayward has an event like this, it is something that I wish the city had when I was growing up. It is a great thing to see.

I hope that everyone has a good and safe Fourth of July.
