Hanging out at the Ashby Flea Market

One of the many things being sold at the Ashby Flea Market
Ah, sometimes nothing is better than having a good walk at the flea market. We have a couple in the East Bay, but the one I like is the one held at the Ashby Flea Market in Berkeley. The flea market is held in the Ashby BART station parking lot on weekends. It is mostly African-American vendors and like most flea markets you never know what you will find.

I hadn't been there for a while, but it seems like a lot of booths were selling incense and water pipes. I guess they were trying to tap into that Berkeley hippy thing.

Get your incense
Rugs for sale
Looking down the one of the aisles
Women's handmade clothes
Love these Jamaican braclets
Feathered Earrings
Wood carving masks

Besides all the handcrafted items, they had some of cool things that people have collected over the years and trying to sell:

This is so cool
1980's Mickey Mouse phone
Beer steins
1890's Vanity
Glass tables
A Frank in Reagan head
MGD Sign
And there is always food around:

Fresh peanuts
The only lunch at a flea market
And of course prayer:

One can always use
I didn't buy much, just a couple of items:

From left: An Usagi #1 comic book, A 2011 Grammy Program, "Rockin' in Time book, and the Human League Greatest Hits CD
