Music Monday: Songs About the Presidents

Here at my Music Monday, I am going to try play some tunes about Presidents as it is President's Day. Hopefully, I can find some good ones:

Hope I did well and got you to dance about the Presidents.

  1. Being a bit of a presidential history buff, this was a fun post. Lincoln is by far the best president the Republican party ever produced; although I'm a fan of Teddy Roosevelt, too. Lincoln was also hysterically funny. I'd highly recommend reading Lincoln anecdotes, if you ever have a chance.

As for President Polk, he is probably the most underrated president ever. He's the one responsible for spreading our country all the way from coast to coast. I think he's often forgotten because he was a one term president.

Kennedy was president when I was born, so I guess I'm pretty doggone old. Once when entertaining a group of Nobel Prize winners, he said, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone." What more can be said.

I'm enjoying my day off and hope you have one, too.

  2. Good selections the Marvin Gaye track was my all time fave in the day and James Brown is brilliant too :-)

  3. Got a couple more: "Dead Presidents" by Willie Dixon and "Harrry Truman" by Chicago. Good choices, although I've always been partial to Dion's "Abraham, Martin, and Jhn."
