Beyond Boundaries: Buddhist Art of Gandhara

 


The Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) has an amazing exhibit going on. It is the Buddhist Art of Gandhara. Gandhara region of Northwest India served as a crossroads of culture, power and Buddhist art from the 2nd to the 9th centuries. It is the first exhibition of Buddhist art from Gandhara region in an American Museum in ten years:











It was amazing to see all of the pieces in person.
