Baseball, Star Wars and Fireworks

I went to the A's-Rangers game over the weekend and it was Star Wars night with fireworks. I am usually a baseball geek who takes pics of the game and really follows the action at the yard but this time I just decided to have fun and enjoy myself. So sorry if I didn't get a ton of game shots:

Baseball:

Rangers pitcher Jason Grilli

Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels

Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail
The Oakland Coliseum at night
The infield (they let us on the field for fireworks)

The Oakland Coliseum from the BART tracks
Star Wars:

Fireworks:

I had a wonderful time at the ballpark (even if they played music from Rouge One instead of the classic Star Wars tunes) and I did visit the Darkside:

  9. Patrick,

Nice photo session of the ballgame, Star Wars characters, and fireworks. Night shots are hard to get and you did a great job! I love the name of the cupcake business, the Darkside. Now, I want dark chocolate cake! It just so happens I have some in the freezer. :D

  10. You got some fine photos, especially the one of Jason Grilli, who must be ready to retire before they force him out. He'll always have 2013 though. I'm still chuckling after seeing that not only are you a Niners but an As and possibly a Rangers fan. Fans like you are what make the game great. Good for you. I also love the Star Wars dude behind the tape, as if anyone is going to rush that field, lol. Ohhh, sorry, my team is doing quite well right now.

  12. Looks like a lot of fun. I've been at games at the Coliseum where they let us on the field afterwards for fireworks, too. We would have quite enjoyed the Star Wars theme :)

  13. Actually one of the classmates in our town played for the Texas Rangers out of HS. His name was Toby Harrah, but that was years ago. I totally understand as lately, I've not taken so many photos when at family events or the grandbabies so I could enjoy more. Looks like you had a great time at the game. How fun for a Stars War theme. :)

  15. I'm not a baseball gal...but that star wars stuff looks cool! I would've gone too if they were there. Also, with an offering like that, I would definitely join the darkside - at least as long as they keep feeding me. ;)

  20. Hey if the darkside was serving cupcakes I'd be there with you. Its fun to see how people enjoy Star Wars, I remember when it first came out and still love the original series the best.
