Music Monday: Just Going Easy

Music Monday: I guess you can say we are going to take it easy with some easy listening songs this week. Just songs that you can relax to after a stressful day:

And because I am feeling a patriotic still:

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

  1. I own one Pat Benatar album, and it's "True Love." She really does the blues well.

That Dave Koz song has four of the best smooth jazz sax players around: Koz, Mindi Abair, Richard Elliott, and the incomparable Gerald Albright. Really enjoyed that one, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of the album.

    Great set!

    1. Come here tomorrow and I will have some pics of the this years summer horns tour. Mindi Abair was replaced by Aubrey Logan. I saw them play on Saturday night.

  3. What a fabulous selection. I haven't heard Pat Benatar's tune in ages & of course your last tune was the very best. I haven't seen that video, but it's too cool! YOU'VE ROCKED THE HOUSE MY FRIEND! Have a great week!

  4. Patrick,

Thanks for the introduction of all of these tunes. It's hard to believe I haven't heard any of them before now. My two favorites no doubt have to be Aubrey Logan "Pistol" and Pat Bentar "True Love". I especially enjoyed Pat's bluesy tune. The style reminded me so much of Patsy Cline's "Fever" which prompted me to see if Pat covered it but I couldn't find it on YT. I definitely will check out more of her tracks from this album, though. It's great having you on the dance floor, my friend. Have smooooth week!

  5. Man, can Pat Benatar sing!! She has an incredible voice. And the guitar solo in the middle was fabulous.
My second favorite was the Summer Horns. That is definitely one I would choose to relax and check out for a bit.
I liked the first one too: Pistol. That was new-to-me and it was a fun song.

Hope you're having a great week,

  6. I regret to say I wasn't a big fan of the first few selections here but "This Land is Your Land" got me going. I did shed a few tears cos Pete is gone. That was one of the happiest days of my life and now it's like it never happened.

  7. All of these (but the Pete Seeger song) were new to me. Loved David Koz - we need more smooth jazz type instrumentals on the radio, I think - and even the NFL suite appealed - you don't often appreciate this kind of music out of its context. As for "This Land is Your Land" of course it is a favorite song, from my early childhood on!
