Tennyson All-America Festival 2018

On Saturday, I went to the 5th Annual Tennyson All-America Festival down the street from my house. It is a celebration of America and a celebration of my city Hayward. It is a great time to meet community leaders, see community resources, see some great entertainment, eat some traditional Fourth of July food (hot dogs, snow cones and punch) and have some great family fun:

Yes, I drown my hot dog in ketcup
Hayward School Board candidate April Oquenda with City Councilman Francisco Zermeno

They also had a bike repair station
Can't beat snow cones

The cool thing is that Tennyson All-America Festival is growing each year. More and more people in my city are learning about it and coming out. It is really nice to see that Hayward has an event like this, it is something that I wish the city had when I was growing up. It is a great thing to see.

I hope that everyone has a good and safe Fourth of July.

  7. I loved going to 4th of July festivals when I was a kid. Nice to see that some places still have them.

  8. A bike repair station at a fair is a brilliant idea! So many people enjoy cycling to such events, but not all bicycles are in good shape.
    Looks like a wonderful party!

  23. Congresswoman Barbara Lee was at the Alameda 4th of July parade. That was one of the highlights for me. My parents live in front of the parade route so it's our tradition, otherwise I'd love to try out other events.

  24. What a great celebration. My niece (and my bro and SIL) are in the US at the moment for an international beauty pageant. (In Texas, so there for celebrations this week!) I keep hearing how hot it is though. They're used to the heat normally but it's our winter so they've left this for that!
