The 50th California international Antiquarian Book Fair

Being a book lover, I went to the 50th California International Antiquarian Book Fair in Oakland. I must say that it was amazing, really amazing. Seeing all these high-class, high-priced book dealers and what they brought was super cool. I hope I did justice in my pics in laying out the scope of things (Note all of the books are First Editions unless noted):

By King Christian V-1756
The Duty of Servants-England 1685

The first printed version of Galileo's work

Printed about 15 years after his death
The first bound work of Geoffrey Chaucer's work. 135 years after his death.

And there were some interesting items besides books:

Original Flyer

An original Wile E. Coyote cartoon cell
A signed Helen Keller letter
Personal items belonging to Oskar Schindler from Schindler's list
The Antiquarian Book Fair was super cool. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Each booth got better than the last.

  1. There are some real gems here. I like the signed lecture by Martin Luther King and enjoyed the title of the paper by Wilbur Wright.

  6. Patrick, the old books are interesting but what I thought was really cool are the articles at the end - Helen Keller's handwritten letter and Schindler's pen set. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Wednesday!
