  1. Patrick,

Ahh, I like that you used spooky film mewsic or at least some are. The theme mewsic from "Halloween" is very creeptastic and totally sets the mood for the season. I see you used Alice today. LOL I did, too and wait to see my spin! :) Thanks for boogieing with the 4M crew, my friend, and have a spooktacular Halloween!

  3. Great selections, creepy and otherwise. First time I’ve heard that Ramones song. Alice Cooper was the perfect choice to set the mood. Have a fantastic Halloween.

  6. Hey Patrick.
Hope you had a fun Halloween yesterday. Great picks for this theme! I hadn't heard Alice Cooper's "He's Back" -- it's absolutely perfect for this post! And Pet Sematary: wow, I hadn't heard that song in a long time. I was curious as to whether it related to Stephen King's movie so I looked it up and there's a neat backstory to it. Apparently King is a huge Ramones fan and invited them to his home when they played in Maine. He handed DeeDee Ramone a copy of the book and he took it and went down in the basement with it. An hour later he had the lyrics written. They did a cool (cold!) video too. Interestingly, even though the song was one of the Ramones biggest hit, it was nominated for The Razzie Award for Worst Original Song (I never heard of a Razzie award, have you? It's an award presented at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards for the worst song written for a film in the previous year. The last year of the Razzies was 1999).
Thanks so much for posting the song. Now I'll have Pet Sematary playing in my head all day... It is a good song for sure.

And Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" is another perfect pick. (that's a strange band name: I've heard the song but never knew the band).

I watched Halloween (1 & 2) last night, which has been my Halloween tradition the last few years, and was commenting on how well the music works in the film to create the tension. Simple, yet powerful.

Thanks for a fun Halloween post. Now I'm going to go scrounge around for some candy...

  7. I never knew who made "I Want Candy", now I know. Oh my goodness I couldn't get pass the the first couple bars of the last one. 15 minutes of watching Halloween was enough for me. When it was advertised on TV I'd change the channel. That's how much that movie creeped me out.
