Walking Jack London Square

Jack London Square in Oakland is a wonderful place. It is on the bay and part of the Oakland waterfront. It is a very nice place. The sad part was that it was dying as businesses moved, the good news that it making a coming back:

And being Jack London Square, there might be one or two things about the great writer there:

I have always liked Jack London Square in Oakland and I am glad that it is getting a rebirth. To me, it would be a perfect place for the A's new ballpark.

CIty Lights Books Alley

I have been to City Lights Books many times. City Lights Books is a true San Francisco landmark. It is the Birthplace of the Beat Movement almost sixty years ago. One thing I had really not paid attention to was the alley behind the store. I wish I had paid attention to it because it was super cool. On the ground are all these great quotes and on wall are these great murals:

And the murals:

City Lights Books is so iconic and the alley behind it is just as cool.

The Summer of Love

I went to the de Young Museum in San Francisco and saw their great exhibit "The Summer of Love" which happened in San Francisco 50 years ago. What was cool was that there was no politics involved in this exhibit it was about the culture, the clothes and the music of the Summer of 67:

And they even allowed you to Turn on, Tune In and Drop Out in a legal way:

The Summer Love exhibit at the de Young was in a word: Groovy.
