Springfield and The Simpsons

 

The Simpsons have been a staple of American TV for almost 34 years. According to Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, Springfield, Oregon is the actual home of The Simpsons. Groening is from Portland which is about two hours north of the place. 

The cool things is that there are a lot of murals of the Simpsons around town:

And there are a couple of other reminders:

It was really cool to see the murals and learn the history of the Simpsons and Springfield, Oregon.

San Francisco Pride Festival 2023

The Wetlands at Coyote Hills

 I did a lot of hiking at Coyote Hills in Fremont. The place is amazing as it a lot of different trails to hike. My favorite is the wetlands:

And I love seeing the waterfowl as you are hiking:

The wetlands at Coyote Hills is the perfect place to have a good hike.

Music Monday: Meet the Beatles

 For this Music Monday, having fun with some Beatlemania which started here in America in 1964. 

The Beatles were amazing together but they also had classic songs outside the group in their solo careers and with other people:

And it might have been a Long and Winding Road for them, their music is classic:

Morning Music at Mission Blue

 

I was privileged to go to Mission Blue Coffee Cafe on a Saturday morning to hear some music. The cafe was cool and funky:

And I got a little something to eat and drink:

While I listened to some music and it was a privilege to hear the wonderful band teacher at the middle school I teach at play (He is on the right, playing the base):

It was a great Saturday morning. 

A Ducky Graduation

 

I have been up in Eugene, OR- Home of the University of Oregon for my daughter Allison's graduation. She received her Masters of Science in Mixed Media and Journalism. I am so very happy for her and proud of her. She worked super hard to achieve it:

I am so very happy for her and love her so much:

So I guess I am now a Daddy Duck, thanks to her:

The sky is the limit for Allison and she is the best daughter that a dad can have. 

While Riding the Rails

 

Went through Southern Oregon while riding Amtrak to Eugene, Oregon:

It was a very peaceful and beautiful ride
