Just Some Interesting Homes

When walking around San Francisco, I always see some interesting homes in the city:

This last one is interesting as the mural on it is dedicated to Gilbert Baker who created the international rainbow flag in 1978 to be a visual icon for the LGBT community:

You never know what you will see while walking around San Francisco.

A Spring Walk in the Park

I went over and walked around Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I love the park. I took a bunch a different pictures while walking and those will be themed posts but this mostly just some of the random pics I took while walking around.

Golden Gate Park is one of San Francisco's Gems. It has been around since 1871 and is the third most visited park in country after New York's Central Park and the Lincoln Memorial. It is a beautiful place to walk around:

Someone had fun with one of the fountains and a seagull decided to guard it"

The Southeastern part of the park was renamed the Robin Williams Meadow:

And you never know what you see while walking around:

And there is the Carousel which was built in 1914 by the Herschel-Spillman company. Sadly, it is currently closed due to COVID:

And there is other buildings that are cool:

World War I Memorial

And I always end up at Kezar Stadium.  Kezar Stadium was built between 1922 and 1925 and was the original home of the San Francisco 49ers from 1946 to 1970 and the first home of the Oakland Raiders in 1960. It was also home to the a lot of the San Francisco high schools. In 1989, the stadium was demolished and reconstructed Kezar taking it from 60,000 to its current 9,900 capacity and repurposed for community use. There is a plaque for NFL Hall of Famer Bob St. Clair who played (all but one season) of his high school, college and pro career at Kezar

And after walking I always head to this joint just outside the park and have a snack:

Walking around Golden Gate Park is always great time.

Music Monday: The Classic Three: Glen, Dean and Frank

Music Monday: In honor of someone's mother's (Our Great Conductor-Marie) here are some classic songs from Glenn Miller, Dean Martin and the Chairman of the Board-Frank Sinatra

And I found this mix with Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra:

And we can always jam to a Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin singing a medley of their songs:

Hope you enjoyed this look back at these classic and timeless artists. They don't make as great as they once did.

Morning in Niles

The other Saturday morning I got up early and walked around the Niles section of Fremont and went to their little farmers market. It was a nice early morning walk before Niles got really busy:

The cool thing was they had all the vintage cars parked in the stalls downtown:

It was a wonderful way to start the morning.
