Just me and my adventures in life. Life is an adventure and I try to have fun. I love being out in the world, taking pictures and being able to share them with people who come across my little space on the internet.
Thanks for stopping by and peace be with you.
The USS Hornet was an aircraft carrier that saw service in World War II and then was modernized after the war. In the 1960's it played a roll in the space program as it was the recovery ship for both Apollo XI and Apollo XII (The first moon landings) was decommissioned in 1970. In 1998, the ship opened as USS Hornet Museum:
You know your ship is cool if you have that painted on it. It says that you recovered spacecraft
An Officer's Stateroom
The Ship's Chapel
Crew's Berthing
Operating Room
And they might have a couple of items related to the space program:
Astronauts Quarantine Center
I am glad that USS Hornet is near by because there is so much history there.
During World War II to support the war effort, Americans had to ration at home. The San Francisco Main Library had a little display of original ration cards and items related to it:
Ration Stamps
And the books:
It was so very interesting to see these.
It is Memorial Day weekend and please say a prayer for all those who have given their life in defense and serving this country.
I found another set of pictures that I didn't post, I should start a whole series called the Lost Blogs-LOL. Anyway, this is of the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo in Los Vegas:
And yes, there are Flamingo's at the Flamingo:
The Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo is always interesting.
