San Francisco Holocaust Memorial

When I was at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco in May, I noticed that they have a Holocaust Memorial right outside the front. I finally decided to post it mostly because of the events of the past couple of weeks. We must never allow hate to consume us but we must remember what has happened in the past:

 

 

We must never forget man's inhumanity to their fellow man and we must always to strive to better and kinder to each other. We must remember that there is only one race-the Human Race.

Meek Estate Park

Meek Estate Park is the estate of William Meek who was one of Hayward's most prominent citizens when the area was first being settled in the 1850's. Meek moved to Hayward in 1859 and seeded the area with cherry, plum, apricot and almond orchards. A source says that area, which is still known today,as Cherryland got its name because of cherry trees planted by Meek. Meek was a county supervisor and the Meek Mansion is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places:

Meek Estate Park is one of those really cool places in Hayward that not many know about. It is a lovely place to walk around and think about what life was like 150 or so years ago.

Pauline's Antiques Of Alameda

I was in Alameda and had some time to kill. I stopped in a place called Pauline's Antiques and had one of the most interesting experiences of my life. Pauline's Antiques is more of a store of a serious pack rat. It is two stories filled with stuff and when I say filled, I mean it.:

Pauline's Antiques is one of the most interesting stores I have ever been. It is amazing to look around and browse.

Hanging at Martinelli Winery

While in Santa Rosa, I headed over to check out the Martinelli Winery in its full glory:

The Martinelli Winery is a nice place to relax with friends after you have been out and about for the day.
