Being a book lover, I went to the 50th California International Antiquarian Book Fair in Oakland. I must say that it was amazing, really amazing. Seeing all these high-class, high-priced book dealers and what they brought was super cool. I hope I did justice in my pics in laying out the scope of things (Note all of the books are First Editions unless noted):
By King Christian V-1756 |
The Duty of Servants-England 1685 |
The first printed version of Galileo's work |
Printed about 15 years after his death |
The first bound work of Geoffrey Chaucer's work. 135 years after his death. |
And there were some interesting items besides books:
Original Flyer |
An original Wile E. Coyote cartoon cell |
A signed Helen Keller letter |
Personal items belonging to Oskar Schindler from Schindler's list |
There are some real gems here. I like the signed lecture by Martin Luther King and enjoyed the title of the paper by Wilbur Wright.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rhonda they are gems :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a tanfastic week :-)

From all the books, I am familiar with "Jaws" and "Moby Dick". I didn't read "Jaws" but I have seen the movie. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI love books in general but Helen Keller's dedication blew me away
ReplyDeletePatrick, the old books are interesting but what I thought was really cool are the articles at the end - Helen Keller's handwritten letter and Schindler's pen set. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Wednesday!

How cool. We used to fly to Oakland, enjoy the city and take the BART to San Francisco. A fun place to visit. - Margy
