I just spent the weekend in the great and beautiful city of San Diego. It was a busy weekend and I took a ton of pics. So for a while, you will be seeing stuff from San Diego-sorry in advance. One of the most beautiful things I saw in San Diego was the Rose and Cactus Garden in Balboa Park. They are actually two different gardens that are next to each other and not mixed.
Going to start with the Cactus Garden which was developed in 1935 under the direction of Kate Sessions for the 1935 California Pacific International Expo:
Next up is the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden:
The Balboa Park Rose and Cactus Garden is one of the most beautiful places to walk around in. It is a true botanical oasis.
Both gardens are wonderful! I think the roses especially are just stunning! What an awesome park to visit.
ReplyDeleteAll those different colored roses are gorgeous! I'm sure it smells amazing there!

I like that they have opposites together. Roses feminine and cacti are more masculine. I actually like cacti the most.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty scenery! I'd love to visit this place one of these days!

ReplyDeleteI love roses Patrick and also when we were in Barcelona last year we saw some fabulous cactus in a Botanical Garden which was dedicated to that species. Thanks for sharing at Midlife Share the Love Party and have a great week! #MLSTL
ReplyDeleteRoses are my favourites and Cactii appeal to my husband because they don't need much water. But oh the divine smell of roses. Balboa Park Rose and Cactus Garden looks a beautiful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gardens and gorgeous flowers Patrick - you certainly seem to have a lot of pretty places near you to visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us at #MLSTL and I've shared this on my SM
