Lately on my walks I have been noticing a lot of people have some kind citrus trees in their yards. I live in the San Francisco where it can get down right cold at times but in the last couple of years the winters have become a little bit more mild and I see these citrus trees blooming in my neighborhood. It is pretty cool and I will say that sometimes I will pick a low hanging fruit here and there:
It is so very cool to see all of these citrus trees in my hood on my walks. It makes things brighter.

ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful! My grandmother used to have citrus trees in her backyard when she lived in Florida and she just loved it. They would never survive our cold New England winters though.
ReplyDeleteWhen my DIL a traveling nurse and son lived out there, it was amazing to hear about the orange trees and avocado trees and much more in their yard in the place they rented. That would be amazing to just go pick a fruit. Did not know San Fran gets cold at all.

Yes any vegetation in the city makes things brighter. Okay, you already know I was raised out in the county where there were all kings of plants and trees.

I have noticed that many people grow lemons. I, personally, have no use for them and wonder why they don't grow oranges!

Having never lived where fresh citrus was available for the picking, I can only imagine. It grows abundantly where you live. Must be a joy to eat one fresh.

Wow, some of those trees are stacked! I'd pick a few too. No point letting them fall off, rot and go to waste.
