Bringing the Community Together and a Fan Fest

The Last Dive Bar (an organization that celebrates the Oakland Coliseum and baseball-They took their name from the Oakland Coliseum which was known as the MLB's "Last Dive Bar") hosted a  Fan Fest on Saturday. It was more than about baseball, it was about community and coming together:

Ice Berg Plants from the Oakland Coliseum

And there was food and music:

And former A's players signing

Daulton Jefferies and Steven Piscotty

Jemile Weeks and Miguel Tejada

But more importantly it was about community and there were at lot of local, small businesses that represented:

Mitch's Hot Works (Great Hot Sauce)

Feral Unicorn Snack Emporium

Artist Guy Sliwinski

Sayra Reyes Art

The Oakland Ballers Fan Fest was a great time, even if you don't like baseball. It was basically a giant block party in Oakland and you can see the community come together and enjoy the day and each other.

  3. That vest with all the pins is fantastic. I wonder how long it took to collect all of them. Looks like it was a great day.

  5. Looks like a great day! And glad people are there having fun and community at the Coliseum. I suppose there is a bit of melancholy given the A's move.

  6. Is it for the start of the Baseball season to get everyone gee'd up or is it more like a Family Day (to make it accessible and fun for little kids?) #Allseasons

  8. Great post. I followed you here from your My Corner of the World link up. I live on the other side of country, about twenty minutes away across the river in NJ from the stadium of the Philadelphia Phillies. My husband and I, newlyweds, saw them win the 1980 World Series. Yes, I am that old! I love the plants in pots.
