Just a little stroll through what is known as historic Niles in Fremont, Ca. Niles was considered the first Hollywood back in the day and Charlie Chaplin shot five films there. Niles has turned into a little area that tries to remain the same. It has places to eat and a lot antique stores. You can spend a whole day just going in and out of the shops:
The library |
The fire station |
The funny thing is that I took pics of stuff inside the stores and lost my notes of what it is or what store I saw it in. Historic Niles is a great place to spend a little time:
Looks like a great place for antique buying, love the ole toolbox!!

ReplyDeleteLooks cool and really quaint. I watched the Charlie Chaplin story about his life, awhile ago and it was really interesting. That would be cool to see where he made some of his movies :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I must have a lot of antiques around my house because I have table and chairs like that iron set, and a gumball machine, and a chair with the straw seat and my dad's tool box is green and looks just like that one. hahahaha Love your walks down memory lane. Heck, I love your walks wherever you go. You always go to places that are so interesting. Thank you for sharing and stopping by! HUGS HAPPY FALL!
ReplyDeletePatrick, thanks for the stroll through Niles. I love visiting and exploring small towns! One of our favorites is in the western hills of North Carolina, Bryson City. It's a quaint place and we find whenever we are in the mountains that we want to take a side trip over there often. Have a fototastic #WW!
ReplyDeleteI could definitely spend a good day browsing there.
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely, I would love to take a walk around here :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful discovery! I never really visited Fremont. I will definitely add it to my must-see list. I especially like the Charlie Chaplin markers.

ReplyDeleteI think I could spend a lot of time there! And Charlie Chaplin - that is very cool seeing all that stuff. City Lights is one of my favourite movies. I'll have to check if that one was filmed here.
