Walking Around Hollywood

I walked the Hollywood Walk of Fame (I did take pics of some of the stars and will blog later about it) and wanted to show some the sites that I saw:

Hollywood High School
Mann's Chinese Theater

The Stars on the ground are great but there is a lot to look at while walking around in Hollywood

Outside the Staples Center

When in LA, I decided to stop by Staples Center, which is home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks:

The great broadcaster Chick Hearn
Luc Robitaille
The Logo-Jerry West
Wayne Gretzky
Oscar De La Hoya
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Magic Johnson
It was really cool seeing how the sporting legends that have preformed for the Los Angeles sports teams.

El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument

When I was in LA, I noticed a cool park. I found it is was El Pueblo de Los Angeles and it is a historic district located in the oldest section on LA. It was founded in 1781 and has been under three flags (Spain, Mexico and U.S.) The 44 -park area was designated a state historic monument in 1953 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972:

King Carlos III of Spain 1759-1788
Felipe De Neve Spanish Governor of California 1775-1782

El Pueblo de Los Angeles is a wonderful place and a must visit when you are in the City of Angeles.

Music Monday: The Summer of 1986

Music Monday: Going back to the summer of 1986. I have many fond memories of that summer. It was the summer before my senior year in high school and I enjoyed it and listened to a bunch of cool tunes:

Hope you enjoyed some of the songs from the summer before I was a senior in high school.

San Mateo County Fair 2016

Last month, I went to the San Mateo Country Fair. We have so many county fairs around us, it is hard to get to all of them. Anyway, I forgot that I had these, so here it is:

I went because Night Ranger was playing:

The San Mateo County was small but anytime Night Ranger is playing it makes it good.

Ventanas at LAX

I was coming out of LAX and saw these beautiful paintings in the baggage area. It is a series called Ventanas (or windows) by Carolyn Castano:

These are beautiful paintings to look at while you are waiting for your bags at the airport.
