Halloween

Just some pictures I have taken with my phone while walking around Oh, there is no way in God's Green Earth that I will be going down to Giants Parade today. Happy Halloween:

1992 McDonald's Dream Team Cups

USA Basketball Logo
I was doing some cleaning and found a box. It is a box that I have had for 20 years. It contains 12 unused plastic cups. They are plastic cups that McDonalds that gave away as part of a promotion for the 1992 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team. You had to send away to the McDonald's home office to get the complete set (Clyde Drexler and Christian Laettner were not sold in McDonald's). I have seen prices for the set from $5 to $50, but I have had held on to them for 20 years and hopefully 20 more. In honor of the NBA opening the 2012-2013, I decided to take of pictures and share them:

The teammates: John Stockton and Karl Malone
The leaders: Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird
Scottie Pippen and Chris Mullin (Go Warriors)
David Robinson, Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley
Clyde Drexler and Christian Laettner
It is weird that through all the changes over the last 20 years of my life (ups and downs) I still have these cups.

Perry's Pumpkn Patch

Not a big fan of doing trendy things, but I went out to Perry's Pumpkin Patch in Newark,Ca. I haven't been to a pumpkin patch in years and had a great time. The staff was nice and helpful in helping me pick the perfect pumpkin for me:

Pumpkins as far as the eye can see
The famous corn maze
I like gourds better than pumpkins

Thursday Afternoon of the Dew Tour-San Francisco

Part of the BMX course at San Francisco Civic Center

Going to be totally honest here. I am not a huge fan of the so-called action sports. It is just me. Last week San Francisco hosted the Dew Tour at Civic Center Plaza in the heart of downtown. The only reason I saw it because I was headed to the San Francisco Main Library to return some books. They had some competition on Thursday afternoon as I was walking by and I took some pics:

Ramirez Farm-The Last Farm in Fremont

A Sign Thanking Folks
Fremont, Ca has a population of about 217,000 people. About 30 years ago it had a population of about 131,000 and was rural. More people means less open space. More people means taking every 20x20 space and wedging an apartment or house into it. Along Walnut Ave., next to condos and apartments there is Ramirez Farm, a small family farm that looks out of place in suburbia with the farmland and the little shack where they sell what they grow. It is a a piece of America that I am glad that we have not totally lost in the Suburban Jungle:

The Farm
Crops growing
Wheelbarrow of  Squash
Pumpkins
Love the Flowers
And they have a nice little store to buy fresh vegi's that are grown:

I hope nobody buys the land Ramirez Farm is on, because it is a place that needed.

Hipsters +San Francisco=Yen for UNIQLO

The UNIQLO sign
There is a new store in San Francisco's Union Square and that store is UNIQLO which is Japanese casual wear. Everyday I see a bunch of people on BART with UNIQLO bags so I decided to check them out. The store in Union Square is the company's West Coast flagship store. I am the last person to ask on any fashion matters, but just looking around I found their stuff nice, reasonably priced and good quality. I think I will I get some stuff their in the near future:
