Places You See on the Road

Just some images from the drive home from Las Vegas to the SF Bay Area. First off is a rest stop to take a couple of pics:

And in Baker,Ca they two things:

The World's Tallest Thermometer:

Also have the Alien Fresh Jerky store which is a little interesting:

If I ever won the big lottery, I would take a year or two off and just drive around and see all the interesting things in the United States:

Peggy Sue's Diner

Located about 90 minutes from Las Vegas on I-15 in Yermo, California is a most interesting place, it called Peggy Sue's Diner and it is a great place to stop and enjoy a meal:

And the food is good:

Peggy Sue's is a wonderful place. It is a true old-fashioned roadside diner that needs to be experienced by everybody.

The Museum of Ice Cream

I went to the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco, it is a popular pop-up-colorful Instagram paradise where visitors eat ice cream and snap selfies amidst shrines to the frozen treat. I guess I lot lucky in buying my ticket as it sold-out in 18 minutes even though I had to wait two months to go. It was interesting to say the least and being a little older I felt a little out of place but I still had a wonderful time:

The Sprinkle Pool

And there was ice cream to eaten:

The Museum of Ice Cream was an unique experience and I am glad I went even though I was about 25 years older than the average that went.

Music Monday: Random Road Songs

Back after an eight-day vacation, drove from the Bay Area to Las Vegas and back. On this Music Monday, here are some of the songs I listened to (or got stuck in my head) while driving:

And because I saw it on the AMA's and loved it:

Hope everybody has a wonderful Monday.

A Visit to Desert Springs United Methodist Church

Whenever I am in Las Vegas on a Sunday, I like to visit Desert Springs United Methodist Church. It is a friendly church to regulars and visitors like me. It is led by Pastor David Devereaux who gives some of the best sermons I have ever heard:

One thing that is cool is that they have these cool little libraries of spiritual books on either side when you walk into the church:

And usually when I am in town the great big band The MellowTones are playing during the service:

Desert Springs United Methodist Church is a wonderful place  for both regulars and visitors like me. When I am there I am always warmed when the Pastor says "I am happy to be in church with you." and I know he means it.
