The Peralta Creek Watershed is one of Oakland's primary watersheds and a lot of people don't know it. Water flows down from the Oakland hills through the creeks to the Oakland Estuary and to the San Francisco Bay. Much of the creeks over the years has been buried for streets, housing, businesses, etc. But there are some open creeks that have been restored.
Here is the creek at Cesar Chavez Park:
A couple of miles away is Courland Creek:
It is cool in our urban world that these creeks are being restored and habitat's are also being restored at the same time.
Very green scenery in the woods
