Recovering the Classics Art Project

The San Francisco Main Library had an exhibit on display called "Recovering the Classics". It is a new crowdsourcing project at the Creative Action Network, a global community of artists and designers that participate and often provide their artistry to crowdsourced campaigns around causes. While the campaign is targeted at illustrators, typographers and artists, anyone is invited to contribute. There is a list of 100 books  that you can submit artwork for. This project, part of an initiative by the White House, hopes to bring these covers to schools and libraries across the country. Your artwork could be featured on covers and eBooks if selected. The ones on display were created by people:

Weclome to Musee Mecanique

Musee Mecanique is located in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf and is the largest privately owned collection of coin-operated mechanical musical instruments and antique arcade machines in their original working condition. You can play them and have a great time:

The Commissioner's Trophy

I was in the Oakland A's main office getting something and was able to take quick pics of all four of their Commissioner's Trophy for winning the World Series. They are quite impressive to view.

The trophy was first presented in 1967 and received its name in 1985. A new trophy is made every year and the winner gets to keep the trophy:

I am happy that I have grown up and lived near a team that has won four of them. I hope they can will another one soon.

Fourth of July 2015

239 years ago, an experiment called the United States declared their independence from England on July 4th. It was a bold move and a bold experiment that keeps on going to this day. Men like our first president George Washington took the brave step and were considered traitors to the King but instead they are consider heroes for their actions:

Over the last 239 we have had our mis-steps and failures but great men and women have help keep us together. We have not have always got along but somehow we have kept together this union:

People forget how big and diverse this county is. Size wise, we are as big as Europe and we are the one of the most diverse people in the world. We may not always get along and we have our problems as a country but somehow we are still united as one. So America, Happy Birthday

A Visit to Recycle Bookstore

I was having lunch in Campbell and stumbled across Recycle Bookstore and naturally I had to go in and take pics:

Recycle Bookstore in Campbell has a cool vibe to it.
