California ScienCenter

I was down in Los Angeles and I got to see a bunch of things. One of the coolest was the California ScienCenter and the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. It was something that blew me away:

The jets were cool but it was their artifacts from the space program that I loved:

Project Mercury training suit
Orion Sounding Rocket
Gemini 11 space capsule
Ken Mattingly's Apollo 16 Spacesuit
Project Mercury-Redstone 2 capsule
Project Apollo-Soyuz Module
But the big attraction was the Space Shuttle Endeavour:

For two bucks, the California ScienCenter is the best deal ever.

North Beach Festival

Ah, summer is festival season in Bay Area. I went to one of the oldest-The North Beach Festival which is held in the North Beach or Little Italy section on San Francisco. It is calls itself the oldest continuous festival in America. I don't know but it is a good time:

There are a lot of local artists displaying and selling their art:

And great music:

The North Beach Festival is one of the cool San Francisco events that is a must attend.

Japan Day Festival

I headed over to Japantown in San Francisco for the Japan Day Festival. It celebrated the culture of Japan and the Japanese people:

The Japan Day Festival was really nice and I learned a lot about the culture of Japan.
