As you walk out of the 24th Street BART Station (our subway system in the Bay Area) you are greeted by a new mural- The Santana Family Mural which honors the great musician Carlos Santana in the San Francisco neighborhood him and his family has always called home, the Mission District:
The Oakland Museum has a great exhibition called Off to War, it focuses on the propaganda that was produced when World War II broke out:
I thought it was really cool and also very interesting to see how much propaganda was produced for the public during World War II.
Near the California State Capitol Building is the California Vietnam Memorial which pays tribute to the 350,000 Californians who served during the Vietnam War and the 5,822 Californians who died in the Vietnam War. It was designed by a Vietnam veteran and is his personal reflection on his daily life. It was dedicated in 1988:

The Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) has an amazing exhibit going on. It is the Buddhist Art of Gandhara. Gandhara region of Northwest India served as a crossroads of culture, power and Buddhist art from the 2nd to the 9th centuries. It is the first exhibition of Buddhist art from Gandhara region in an American Museum in ten years:
