CSUEB Annual Night of Jazz

I went to the Cal State East Bay's (IT IS CSU HAYWARD-THAT IS WHAT MY DEGREE SAYS) Annual Night of Jazz at the famous Jazz Club Yoshi's in Oakland.  The proceeds from the concert go to the program. It was a great night of really good music by the students in the jazz program. They had two special guests sit in- singer Tiffany Austin and sax player Teodross Avery. Both were super awesome:
Sax player Teodross Avery
Singer Tiffany Austin-She has a great voice
Austin and Avery

CSUEB graduate student Mario Silva. Silva and his trumpet can be heard on several tracks off Morgan Hertiage's album "Strickly Roots" which won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in February.

It was a great evening filled with great music, I can't wait for next year's concert.

  6. Looks like a fantastic event. I listen to Jazz FM Toronto, Canada's only full time jazz station, all the time. Nothing like live music though!

  9. This looks like a fun event to attend. I really like all the instruments in jazz music. My husband plays the saxophone, my youngest son has tenor sax , my daughter plays piano and I used to play clarinet...Maybe we could start a jazz band, lol. Thanks for sharing at Over The Moon!
