I made my way over to Pier 39 in San Francisco to see the once a year offering known as Tulip Mania. For basically the last two weeks the weather here has been pretty rainy and nasty, since TulipMania only lasts a week I had to go before it ended. One thing I learned is that the Tulips are not fans of the rain or the wind:
In the hour I was walking around taking photos, it was sunny, it rained and there was a lot of wind. The weather changed about five times and that is when it dawned on me, I don't this weather and I bet the tulips don't like it either.
I love tulips too but haven't had any luck growing them. Your photos are beautifulReplyDelete

What beautiful tulips! Today we are getting lots of snow and ice in PA so this really brightened up my day! I talked a bit about what is on my mind lately:ReplyDelete
Amazing! I think there should be a worldwide tulip mania in every city - love these pictures!ReplyDelete
Oh wow, is it time yet? The purple & white one is my favorite for sure! Ours usually don't come until April & sometimes as late as May! :( We still have snow! :( Have a great day and thanks for a lil' touch of Spring! I needed that!ReplyDelete
Who doesn't love tulips?! Thanks for the beautiful photos to look at while we patiently wait for spring to arrive. :-)ReplyDelete
You still got some great shops of the pretty tulips! That sounds like fun!ReplyDelete
I'm surprised about the rain but I've seen wind destroy flowers I was trying to grow, but then again I don't have any green on my thumb unless I'm eating guac tortilla chips. I can't wait for spring and all the tulips they plant around the square.ReplyDelete
The colours of the tulips are beautiful.ReplyDelete

Ah such a happy, colourful, breezy flower full of the joys of spring. Loved your photos. We have an annual flower festival in Nannup, SWAustralia each year, and the small town is adorned with masses of tulips and daffodils. We always try to visit and each year come back with so many photographs and lovely memories.ReplyDelete
