The Tulips Don't Like Rain

I made my way over to Pier 39 in San Francisco to see the once a year offering known as Tulip Mania. For basically the last two weeks the weather here has been pretty rainy and nasty, since TulipMania only lasts a week I had to go before it ended. One thing I learned is that the Tulips are not fans of the rain or the wind:

In the hour I was walking around taking photos, it was sunny, it rained and there was a lot of wind. The weather changed about five times and that is when it dawned on me, I don't this weather and I bet the tulips don't like it either.

  13. I'm surprised about the rain but I've seen wind destroy flowers I was trying to grow, but then again I don't have any green on my thumb unless I'm eating guac tortilla chips. I can't wait for spring and all the tulips they plant around the square.

  23. Ah such a happy, colourful, breezy flower full of the joys of spring. Loved your photos. We have an annual flower festival in Nannup, SWAustralia each year, and the small town is adorned with masses of tulips and daffodils. We always try to visit and each year come back with so many photographs and lovely memories.
